Monoethanolamine is an organic liquid with an ammoniacal odor that has several functions, ranging the manufacture of various surfactants, alkalizing and neutralizing agent to corrosion inhibitor.
Compared to Triethanolamine, a substance with similar structure and functions, it has the advantage of not being regulated by the army, being a good alternative to the latter when used in cleaning and degreasing formulations.
It is widely used in cleaning products as a substitute for Ammonia Hydroxide, also known as ammonia.
Because it is an amine, it is also widely used as a corrosion inhibitor.
