Ethoquad T-25 is an ethoxylated fatty quaternary amine (15 EO) with a cationic character, primarily used as a hydrotrope and co-surfactant to stabilize emulsions and achieve micro-emulsions.
Depending on the formulation, its hydrotropic capacity is quite distinct from other conventional hydrotropes (such as Butyl Glycol, Sodium Xylene Sulfonate, Sodium Cumene Sulfonate, etc.). This makes it possible to drastically reduce the concentration of hydrotrope required to obtain a clear and stable solution.
This characteristic makes Ethoquad T-25 an excellent choice for the following formulations: industrial, automotive, and acidic degreasers; O/W (oil-in-water) emulsions; various acidic detergents; concentrated detergents; and formulations rich in low-HLB surfactants (based on fatty alcohols and/or Nonylphenol Ethoxylate).
